Two women and one man are the deceased in the fire that occurred this morning in Madrid.

The three victims, two women and one man, belonged to the same family and died in the fire that occurred on Moreno Street, in the Carabanchel district. The investigation has been taken over by the provincial Scientific Police brigade, whose agents are waiting for temperatures in the affected building to drop in order to enter and collect evidence that may help identify the possible cause of the fire, according to police sources. According to a representative of Samur-Civil Protection, two of the victims died from smoke inhalation and the third from burns. Some media outlets have reported that the victims are a 90-year-old woman and her two children. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames spreading along the façade and the interior of the house filled with smoke. During the extinguishing efforts, they discovered the lifeless bodies of three people. At 11:30, it is expected that Francisco Martín, the Government Delegate of Spain in the Community of Madrid, will go to the site of the fire and speak to the media. The fire started around half two in the morning on the third floor of a building located at number 3 of portal 13 on Moreno Street. Emergency services, including firefighters and police, arrived at the scene after receiving an alert. The fire has spread through the back of the building and smoke has impacted two penthouses on the upper levels, where Madrid firefighters had to evacuate two people, who are in good condition.
