The ship that sank with the Spaniards in Indonesia was hit by three large waves.

A phenomenon caused the arrival of three waves, resulting in the sinking of a tourist boat carrying six Spaniards. One has died and three more are still missing, according to local authorities. The incident occurred last Friday near the island of Padar, in eastern Indonesia. The head of the Labuan Bajo Navy, Stephanus Risdiganto, commented that these waves are «strange and unpredictable.» «The first wave lifted the boat, the second made it tilt to one side, and the third sank it,» said the director, estimating that the waves reached a height of approximately 2.5 metres above sea level and stating that this phenomenon lasted between 1 and 2 minutes before the waters returned to calm.
