Sanaa, 30 December. This Tuesday, the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen declared that it is ending the joint defence agreement with the United Arab Emirates, which supports the southern secessionists in Yemen. The withdrawal of all Emirati forces and personnel from Yemeni territory was ordered within 24 hours. Rashad al Alimi, president of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, signed a decree establishing «a state of emergency throughout the Republic, starting on Tuesday, 30 December 2025, for a period of 90 days, which may be extended». An «aerial, maritime, and land blockade of 72 hours is established at all ports and border crossings», except at those crossings authorised by the military coalition led by Saudi Arabia. This is due to the necessity to respond to the coup that has been ongoing since 2014, referring to the Houthi Shiite rebels, as well as the internal conflicts caused by military rebel groups instructed by the United Arab Emirates to carry out a military offensive in the eastern regions.
