Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico and Uruguay reject the actions of the USA in Venezuela.

Bogotá (EFE).- This Sunday, the governments of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, and Uruguay expressed their rejection of the «unilateral military actions carried out in the territory of Venezuela,» where President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were arrested. The six countries stated in a communiqué their disapproval of the military actions in Venezuela, which violate principles of international law, particularly the prohibition of the use and threat of force, as well as respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states. The signatories expressed their concern over any attempts at control by the government, as well as external management or appropriation of natural or strategic resources. In this context, the U.S. president declared that the United States will oversee Venezuela until a transition occurs and that U.S. oil companies will invest to restore the infrastructure of that industry in the Caribbean nation.
