Pain and anger in Quesada (Jaén) over the death of a woman due to alleged gender-based violence.

Jaén, (EFE).- This midday, residents of Quesada gathered to express their outrage over the death of Pilar, aged 38. Her ex-partner, aged 61, was arrested and had an existing restraining order against him, in a case being investigated as gender violence. The mayor, Yolanda Marcos, stated that Quesada is in shock, filled with anger and helplessness, following the minute of silence observed by residents in the area. The municipal government has declared three days of official mourning and cancelled all celebrations due to the passing of this resident, whose body was found in the Béjar area, with signs of having been attacked with a sharp weapon. The deputy representative of the Government in Jaén, Manuel Fernández, who also attended the gathering, confirmed that both the victim and the arrested individual were registered in the Integral Monitoring System for Gender Violence (VioGén), with her being the victim and him the aggressor.
