Venezuela is «in tranquility» after gunfire near the presidential headquarters, according to an informed source.

Caracas (EFE).- This Monday, government sources explained that the gunfire heard by several witnesses near the presidential palace in Venezuela, in Caracas, was caused by drones flying without authorisation. They also stated that the country «is calm». The source indicated that the «Police fired shots» upon detecting the presence of drones and emphasised that «there was no confrontation». They added that «the entire country is calm». Earlier, videos capturing the sound of gunfire were circulated on social media, while witnesses informed EFE that the sound of motorcyclists could be heard nearby. Caracas, Venezuela, is experiencing moments of tension due to reports of gunfire and the presence of drones flying near the Palace of Miraflores.
