This Monday, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that the Secretaries of State and Defence, Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth, along with the advisor on security and migration, Stephen Miller, will be responsible for coordinating the transition in Venezuela. In a conversation with NBC News, Trump mentioned that his Vice President, JD Vance, will be part of the team dealing with Venezuela. However, Vance has maintained a low profile since a military and special forces operation attacked Caracas with the aim of capturing Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. In response to the question of who will be in charge of making decisions about Venezuela in that group, Trump stated that he will be the one who has the final say.
