Barcelona. This Wednesday, Isaac Albert, deputy general secretary for communication and spokesperson for ERC, predicted that the leader of his party, Oriol Junqueras, and the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, will reach a financing agreement this week that will provide approximately 5,000 million euros in additional funding for Catalonia. This was stated in an interview with Catalunya Ràdio, before Sánchez meets with Junqueras at Moncloa tomorrow to discuss the reform of the autonomous financing system. Albert has affirmed that, in recent months, both the socialists and the republicans have been working to try to reach an agreement for Catalonia. The republican spokesperson emphasised that «concrete details» must emerge from tomorrow’s meeting between Sánchez and Junqueras on issues such as income tax collection, regulatory capacity, the «investment consortium,» as well as the timeline and deadlines for implementing the agreement. «We cannot indefinitely prolong the negotiations,» he stated. Albert anticipates that the meeting between Sánchez and Junqueras will facilitate the conclusion of the agreement.
