Machado assures that her coalition is ready and willing to lead Venezuela.

The Venezuelan opposition leader, María Corina Machado, stated that her political alliance «should lead Venezuela» following the detention of President Nicolás Maduro and his extradition to the United States. «We are prepared and willing to take care of our people,» Machado said in an interview with the American channel CBS, while discussing the questions that have arisen in the country after Maduro’s downfall. Machado won the primaries to face Maduro in the 2024 Venezuelan presidential elections. The government prevented her from participating, but former diplomat Edmundo González took her place. The United States and other countries accepted González as the winner of the elections following accusations that Maduro’s government had manipulated the vote count.
