Madrid (EFE).- The five Spanish prisoners who were released in Venezuela are now on their way to Spain, with their arrival scheduled for 13:15 on Friday, according to Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares. «The 5 compatriots released today in Venezuela are already flying towards Spain. They will soon be back home with their loved ones.» Last night, the minister posted on X: «I have spoken with them to express my happiness for their release.» I thank @EmbEspVenezuela and everyone who made this situation possible. This morning, during an interview on TVE reported by EFE, Albares stated that he is awaiting the possible release of more Spanish prisoners from jails in Venezuela. The minister has remained reserved regarding the identities of any potential new releases, although he mentioned that «there is one person in particular we are hopeful may be released in the coming hours or days.» «I won’t go into further details, but what I really hope is that this progress made by the Government of Venezuela in this new phase that is beginning in the country continues,» he commented.
