After a week of discussions, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, defends Spain’s role in relation to Venezuela and states that no other government has done as much for the Venezuelan people. He emphasises that this is the only government that has taken measures in their favour and mentions the efforts made for opposition leaders to travel to Spain. The minister points out that his government has granted residence and work permits to 200,000 Venezuelans and responds to criticisms from the PP. Following the detention of Nicolás Maduro and the new period with Delcy Rodríguez, Albares requests that the PP support the government. The emphasis should be on promoting unity and not on bringing division among Venezuelans in Spain, as some parties and digital media are perceived to attempt to spread slander and calumnies against the government.
Albares: no government in the world has done what this one has for Venezuelans.
