The President of the United States, Donald Trump, warned Cuba that it will not receive any more funds or oil from Venezuela. He indicated that the island has been relying on Venezuelan money and oil in exchange for security services for the last two dictators. Trump exclaimed that most of those Cubans have died as a result of the US attack and that Venezuela now has the US military for its defence. He commented that there will be no more oil or money from Venezuela for Cuba and advised Cuba to come to an understanding. After mentioning that Cuba offered military services to the dictators of Venezuela in exchange for oil and money, Trump expressed his satisfaction that most of the Cuban military had died following the attack carried out by US forces in Venezuela, which resulted in the capture of Nicolás Maduro and his wife. The president stated that Venezuela no longer requires the protection of the Cubans. Furthermore, he highlighted that Venezuela now has the backing of the United States and its military to provide them with protection. Operation ‘Absolute Resolution’, which took place on the 3rd of this month, resulted in the death of at least 56 soldiers, of which 32 were Cuban, according to the Government of Havana.
