Valencia (EFE).- Salomé Pradas, the former councillor for Justice and Interior of Valencia, has stated before the judge handling the criminal case related to the management of the dana that she felt «influenced» by the Presidency of the Generalitat not to impose a lockdown on the population that day. Pradas appeared in court to confront José Manuel Cuenca, who was head of cabinet for Carlos Mazón, in order to clarify his statements regarding the management of the emergency. The controversy stems from messages Cuenca sent to Pradas, in which he expressed his disagreement with the idea of imposing a lockdown on the population. Furthermore, the origin of Cuenca’s stance on this issue is questioned, as it was reflected in WhatsApp messages where he stated that «there should be no lockdown.» In her statement, Pradas indicated that she communicated with the regional secretary of the Presidency, Cayetano García, at 19:43, as she was unable to contact Mazón at 19:36.
Pradas felt «pressured» from the Presidency not to confine the population during the adverse weather conditions.
