Madrid. This Monday, the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, called for an end to the «pressures» on Greenland, which is a territory of Denmark, and suggested the possibility of increasing its security if Denmark, as a NATO member, feels it is threatened. Albares indicated that he does not consider an attack by the USA on Greenland even a possibility, but emphasised that if Denmark believes that Euro-Atlantic security is not «adequately safeguarded,» Spain, along with its allies, is prepared to «evaluate it, study it, and strengthen it.»
Spain is open to reinforcing the security of Greenland through NATO if there is a threat.
