The elections in Castile and León will take place on 15 March. This is because the president of the Junta, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, has used the last deadline for the elections to be held on 8 March, fulfilling his promise to extend the legislature. Following the omission of the electoral call decree in the Official Bulletin of Castile and León, legal and political sources have reported that the elections must be held on the third Sunday of March. The only option left would be for Mañueco to decide to hold the elections on a weekday, something that occurred in the Community of Madrid in 2021. However, the norm in recent decades in Spain has been to call elections on Sundays to facilitate voter participation.
