Copenhagen.- This Tuesday, the Danish Foreign Minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, announced that tomorrow he will meet with U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, to discuss Washington’s interest in Greenland, with U.S. Vice President, JD Vance, hosting the meeting. Rubio reported that he will be meeting with Rasmussen, who will be accompanied by the Greenlandic Foreign Minister, Vivian Motzfeldt, this week. The specific day of the meeting, which will take place at the White House, was not specified. Rasmussen’s statement followed a meeting of the Danish Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, where the relationship between Denmark and the United States was discussed, and which was also attended by the Danish Defence Minister, Troels Lund Poulsen. Rasmussen affirmed that the purpose of the meeting is to address the conversation in a space where they can see each other face to face. Poulsen announced that next Monday he will head to Brussels with Motzfeldt to meet with NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, to talk about security in the Arctic.
