The US withdraws troops from Doha due to tensions in the Middle East, according to Qatar.

The Government of Qatar announced the reduction of troops at Al Udeid, the United States airbase in the Middle East, located on the outskirts of Doha. This decision is being made in the context of tensions in the region. The International Media Office of Qatar stated that actions are being implemented in this context, without mentioning the heightened tensions between Iran and the United States. The Government of Qatar referred to reports about the withdrawal of certain troops from the Al Udeid airbase and other facilities in the Middle East as a precautionary measure against a possible escalation of conflict, driven by warnings from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, regarding possible intervention in Iran. Trump stated that he would provide support to dissidents in Iran amid protests in the Persian country and reiterated his warning about the possibility of a military attack against the Islamic Republic due to the repression of demonstrations.
