Mérida (EFE) – On 14 January, Miguel Ángel Gallardo announced that he is resigning from his position as a deputy in the regional assembly. This means that he will no longer enjoy parliamentary immunity in the legal case related to the hiring of David Sánchez at the Badajoz Provincial Council. Gallardo has informed the Management Committee of the PSOE of Extremadura about his decision. In a message published on his X account, Gallardo states that he has made this decision to confront the ongoing legal process, referring to the case alongside David Sánchez, for crimes of influence peddling, malfeasance, and illegal appointment. By stepping down, Gallardo will relinquish his right to immunity, meaning this matter will be addressed in the Provincial Court of Badajoz.
