The Government brings together the autonomous regions to address funding with more opposition than support.

This Wednesday, the Vice-President and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, will meet with the autonomous communities to discuss a proposal for autonomous financing that includes a level of resources for the regions. This proposal has been rejected by the governments of the PP and the socialist government of Castilla-La Mancha. According to the regional governments, only Catalonia supports the proposal, pending Montero’s clarification to the finance ministers regarding the details of the model presented by Oriol Junqueras. This scheme, which the Vice-President explained to the media, would entail the allocation of approximately €21 billion extra in 2027 to the common regime communities, excluding Navarra and the Basque Country, if approved by the Cortes.
