The year 2025 became the third warmest year on record. Since 2023, it is the first occasion that global temperatures have averaged more than 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels over a three-year period, surpassing the limit of the Paris Agreement. According to the report from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, last year was 0.01 °C cooler than 2023 and 0.13 °C warmer than 2024. In 2025, the average global temperature reached 14.97 °C, representing an increase of 0.59 °C compared to the average of the reference period from 1991 to 2020.
The year 2025 was the third warmest, and the average since 2023 exceeds the threshold of 1.5 °C.
