Copenhagen (EFE) – Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and the President of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, believe that establishing a working group with the United States to address the conflict over this country’s interest in acquiring the Danish territory is a step forward, although the situation remains serious. The formation of the group followed a meeting in Washington between the Foreign Ministers of Denmark, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, and Greenland, Vivian Motzfeldt, along with US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Dialogue has begun and it has been agreed to form a working group to address the disagreements. «It’s a step forward,» commented Nielsen on Facebook. «Negotiations and diplomacy are the right approach,» added the leader of the Government of Greenland.
Denmark and Greenland emphasise the importance of dialogue with the USA in a serious situation.
