Two dead in a cayuco with a hundred occupants rescued 275 kilometres from El Hierro.

Two individuals have lost their lives on a cayuco that was transporting another 106 passengers, which was rescued by Maritime Rescue 275 kilometres from El Hierro. The team from the Guardamar Urania has assisted these individuals, which include around twenty women and three children, according to reports from the state rescue agency. The rescue was carried out in waves of between 2.5 and 3 metres and winds of between 28 and 35 knots. It is expected that these individuals will be disembarked at the port of Arguineguín during the day today. The ships ‘Sarah M’ and ‘Eurostar’ worked alongside the rescue team, remaining in the area until the Guardamar Urania arrived.
