In December, the consumer price index (CPI) decreased by one-tenth, standing at 2.9% in year-on-year comparison, thanks to the reduction in fuel prices and an increase in the costs of holiday packages. Food inflation rose by two-tenths, reaching 3%, due to the increase in prices of legumes and oils. This Thursday, the National Statistics Institute (INE) confirmed the inflation figure anticipated two weeks ago, as well as the core inflation rate, which remained at 2.6%.
