With the protests crushed, Iran seeks to prevent a US intervention.

Tehran.- Iran is attempting to prevent intervention from the United States through warnings and diplomatic efforts in response to threats from President Donald Trump. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, is making calls to colleagues in other countries, emphasising that any action by the United States on Iranian territory could unleash chaos in the Middle East, while asserting that his nation will defend itself. He communicated with China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, who was warned that intervention by Washington could lead to instability in the region, according to the IRNA news agency. Araqchi stated that Iran will respond to external threats with force. The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, reiterated a warning to Gabriel Lüchinger, Switzerland’s National Security Adviser, who acts as an intermediary for US interests in Tehran and facilitates communication between the two adversaries. According to IRNA, Larijani stated in a phone call with Lüchinger that Tehran will not remain passive in the face of Washington’s threats.
