Tehran.- On Friday, Iranian authorities reported that they have arrested 3,000 individuals, whom they label as «terrorists», during the protests in the Islamic Republic over the past few weeks. «Security authorities have communicated that 3,000 individuals linked to terrorist groups and those participating in the disturbances have been detained,» security sources told the Tasnim news agency, which is associated with the Revolutionary Guard. This figure is lower than that provided by non-governmental organisations operating outside of Iran. According to the HRANA organisation, the arrest of more than 19,000 individuals has been confirmed. Authorities have not provided information on the detentions, the identity, or the status of those arrested. HRANA states that it has managed to confirm the detention of over 19,000 individuals so far.
