María Corina Machado, the leader of the Venezuelan opposition, stated that Delcy Rodríguez, the interim president of Venezuela, is not a reflection of the Venezuelan people and expressed her confidence that a transition will take place. In a press conference in Washington, a day after her meeting with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, Machado commented that Rodríguez is following orders and is not participating in an agreement. The opposition leader asserted that Rodríguez is a partner and spokesperson for the regimes of Russia, China, and Iran, but does not represent the Venezuelan people. According to Machado, the political transition in her country will result in a Venezuela that will become the best ally of the United States.
