The EU is considering imposing tariffs of 93 billion euros on the US, says ‘Financial Times’.

The European Union is considering imposing tariffs on the United States worth €93 billion or limiting access for its companies to the community market in response to threats of tariffs from US President Donald Trump directed at NATO allies who have deployed troops in Greenland, according to the ‘Financial Times’ reported this Sunday. This list of tariffs was prepared last year and its implementation was postponed until 6 February to prevent a trade war. Today it was discussed in Brussels by the 27 EU ambassadors, along with the anti-coercion instrument, which could restrict access for US companies to the internal market. Trump warned that from 1 February he will apply a 10% tariff on products coming from Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Finland, and Denmark, NATO countries that have deployed troops in Greenland. In a statement on the Truth Social platform, Trump mentioned that he intended to raise these tariffs to 25% in June, and that they will remain in effect until a «total and complete acquisition of Greenland» by the United States is achieved.
