Renfe will increase the frequency of its medium-distance service on the route connecting Madrid and Seville through Extremadura, due to the suspension of rail traffic following the accident in Adamuz. Renfe will launch a new train service tomorrow and on Thursday from Atocha station to Sevilla Santa Justa, scheduled to depart at 10:55. On Wednesday and Friday, a train will leave Santa Justa at 11:50 for Atocha. Renfe is developing an alternative transport plan for passengers affected by the disruption in rail services. This Monday, the high-speed train service connecting Madrid, Córdoba, Seville, Málaga, Huelva, Cádiz, Algeciras, and Granada will be interrupted. The president of Renfe, Álvaro Fernández Heredia, has indicated that the resumption of rail traffic on that line will take several days. Due to the interruption of rail traffic, Iberia and Air Europa have increased their services to ensure connections between the south and the centre of the Iberian Peninsula. Iberia has increased its flights with eight new routes connecting Madrid to Seville and Málaga, resulting in an increase of 1,526 seats. Air Europa will begin offering, from tomorrow until Friday, an additional 360 daily seats between Madrid and Málaga.
