Sánchez is travelling this morning to the site of the train accident in Adamuz (Córdoba).

Madrid. This morning, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, is heading to Adamuz where the railway accident occurred, to gather information on the situation, according to the State Secretariat for Communication. Last night, Sánchez cancelled his agenda for this Monday, which included a meeting with the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, due to the derailment of two high-speed trains in Adamuz. Tonight, the country is in mourning over the train accident in Adamuz. The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, is in Córdoba heading to the accident site. At least 39 people have lost their lives in the incident and 48 are hospitalised, including five children. An Iryo train, which departed from Málaga with 317 passengers on board and was headed to Puerta de Atocha, derailed its last three carriages, invading the adjacent track where another Renfe train heading to Huelva was passing, which also suffered a derailment. The Iryo trains collided with the first two carriages of the Renfe Alvia, which were thrown and fell down an embankment.
