The first ambulance that arrived to attend to the victims of the Iryo train on 18 January in Adamuz arrived at 20:02, 17 minutes after the accident was reported to 112. A total of 39 vehicles were deployed within 40 minutes, according to the timeline provided by the Junta. The health emergency response was activated at 19:47, two minutes after the first call to 112. 39 ambulances were mobilised within 40 minutes from nearby locations and others from Jaén, Córdoba, Seville, and Granada. The mobilisation of the emergency response gathered 800 people from various units. The Madrid 112 was informed that an Alvia train was involved in the incident. At 20:01, Renfe connected the Madrid 112 with Adif, who reported that a train had derailed at the Adamuz station and that a train on the adjacent track had sustained damage and there were injuries.
