Sánchez rejects Spain’s participation in the Peace Board for Gaza led by Trump.

Brussels. This Thursday, the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, opposed the inclusion of Spain in the Peace Board for Gaza proposed by United States President Donald Trump, arguing that it is outside the scope of the UN. Sánchez rejected the inclusion of peace in that proposal during the press conference he gave in Brussels at the end of the extraordinary meeting of the Twenty-Seven, where Trump’s intentions regarding Greenland were discussed. According to the President of the Government, the proposal presented by the President of the United States at the Davos Forum, designed to oversee his peace plan for Gaza and aimed at extending to other conflicts around the world, is not only outside the scope of the UN, but also excludes the Palestinian National Authority. «We express our gratitude for the invitation, but we have decided not to participate in the meeting suggested by the United States Administration,» he emphasised, adding that this decision is based on consistency with the policy that the Government has been implementing regarding the future of Palestine and its commitment to multilateral order, the United Nations system, and International Law.
