Spain adds 605,400 jobs in 2025 and unemployment falls below 10% for the first time since 2008.

In 2025, the job market created 605,400 new positions, reaching 22.46 million employed individuals, while the unemployment rate dropped to 9.93%, marking the first time it has fallen below 10% since 2008. According to information from the Labour Force Survey (EPA) released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) this Tuesday, in 2025 the number of unemployed decreased by 118,400, bringing the total to 2.47 million. The total number of employed individuals grew more than that of unemployed individuals, as the labour force increased by 487,100 individuals, reaching 24.94 million people.
