Madrid (EFE).- The storm Kristin will affect the country with winds, waves, rainfall, and snow in areas of the north and centre at elevations from 600 metres, which will hinder circulation. Rubén del Campo, spokesperson for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), reported that the storm will cross the peninsula quickly and will have effects in the Balearic Islands. The depression Kristin has formed off the Portuguese coast and its duration will be temporary, as it will have passed by Thursday. The country will continue to be under the influence of low-pressure systems from the Atlantic, and rain is expected across much of the territory on Thursday. Following Kristin, new storms are anticipated, bringing rainfall, snowfall in mountainous areas, and winds, with a rise in temperatures on Thursday followed by a subsequent decrease. The storm will traverse the peninsula from west to east, generating intense gusts of wind in wide areas. In certain locations, it is possible for objects to fall from heights, including branches or trees. The arrival of cold air will cause snowfall at lower altitudes in the north and centre from approximately 600-800 metres, although the altitude of the snow is expected to rise during the afternoon.
The new storm Kristin: fleeting, deep and very adverse, with snow and hurricane-force winds.
