Geneva (EFE).- This Wednesday, the United Nations Office for Human Rights praised the actions of the Spanish Government to regularise migrants, emphasising that this will contribute to «strengthening social cohesion.» The office indicated that it positively receives the measures aimed at regularising the situation of migrants, one day after legal procedures began in Spain for a regularisation that will benefit approximately 500,000 foreign individuals already residing in the country. The regularisation of migrants facilitates access to rights and services, upholds dignity, and strengthens social cohesion, benefiting individuals and communities. The actions taken by Spain differ from the immigration policies in other European countries, which are motivated by the increasing electoral prospects of the far-right.
