The Government accuses PP, Junts and Vox of «being relentless» towards the vulnerable by voting against the omnibus decree.

Madrid. This Wednesday, the Minister of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030, Pablo Bustinduy, declared that the choice of the PP, JxCat and Vox to oppose the omnibus royal decree reflects the desire of these parties to attack the disadvantaged families of this country. Bustinduy described what happened this Tuesday in the Congress of Deputies, where a document that included the update of pensions, the extension of the suspension of evictions for vulnerable groups, and proposals such as the freezing of contributions for self-employed workers was rejected. The minister expressed his concern by stating that the political stance held by the right and the far right consists of displacing the disadvantaged families of this country. Furthermore, he emphasised that this attitude cannot be tolerated. The Social Rights official indicated that he is in favour of resending the royal decree to Congress and defending it so that it is approved. Additionally, he stated that the rejection by the PP and JxCat is due to blackmail and threats from the far right. In this context, Bustinduy stressed his wish that those who voted against pay attention to the citizens and be willing to engage in conversation and dialogue about the country’s objectives. The minister claimed that Spain is different, it is a more advanced society than those stances, before participating in a national meeting on social innovation to promote a new model of community care.
