Madrid (EFE) – According to the organisers, the agricultural sector has brought together more than 25,000 farmers and 15,000 tractors in a day of protests to express their opposition to the trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur, as well as to the reduction of funds for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The agricultural organisations that called for the event (Asaja, COAG, and UPA) have highlighted the sector’s response, especially on a day with adverse weather conditions that led to the cancellation of activities in Seville and Madrid. In this city, a group of farmers met with the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, to discuss their concerns.
