José Luis Ábalos, former leader of the PSOE and former Minister of Transport, who is currently in prison for his involvement in the Koldo case, has stated that he has no choice but to retire and choose retirement, as he has been stripped of his income and social benefits. He affirmed this in a message on X, responding to the speculation generated by his decision to resign from his position as a member of parliament. He has questioned what it means to be a member of parliament after having used all available options and after being left without rights or duties. Furthermore, he pointed out that, without any income, in order to meet his family responsibilities and address his defence, he had no other option but to resign from his position and opt for retirement.
