Caracas (EFE).- This Friday, Delcy Rodríguez, interim president of Venezuela, suggested the creation of a general amnesty law to free political prisoners detained since 1999. Rodríguez stated that an amnesty law will be promoted covering the period of political violence since 1999. The Chavista leader requested that the Commission of Judicial Revolution and the Programme for Coexistence and Peace present the law to the National Assembly, as well as offering collaboration to the legislative body for its approval. «Let a legislation be established that helps to heal the scars left by political confrontation, violence, and extremism, that contributes to restoring justice in our nation and fostering coexistence among Venezuelans,» she added.
