Tehran.- According to Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, the country is making progress in creating a framework for negotiations with the United States, despite the presence of US military forces near Iranian waters. “Progress is being made in establishing a framework for negotiations,” Larijani stated on X on Saturday night. An Iranian security official issued the statement following the arrival in Tehran of Qatar’s Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani, who visited the Iranian capital with the aim of intervening in the escalating tensions due to the dispatch of a US fleet to the Persian Gulf. Iran’s Foreign Ministry representative, Ismail Baghaei, communicated that Al Thani also met with Iranian Foreign Minister, Abas Araqchi. “This meeting took place as part of efforts and dialogues among the countries in the region regarding regional events, and to share views on how to maintain peace and stability in the area,” Baghaei noted.
