Madrid (EFE).- This Sunday, the arrival of a mass of air and the passage of a front will cause overcast skies across the peninsula, with rain and snow in the northern mountains. The State Meteorological Agency has indicated that the rain could be heavy and accompanied by storms in Galicia and the Central System. No precipitation is anticipated along the Mediterranean coast, in the Balearic Islands, in the southeast, or in Melilla. More continuous rainfall is expected in the west of the peninsula, and the possibility of storms in Galicia and the western part of the Central System cannot be ruled out. Snow is expected in the northern mountains, at altitudes between 1100 and 1300 metres, increasing to 2000-2200 metres in the centre and 1600-1800 metres in the Pyrenees. In the Canary Islands, clouds are anticipated in the northern part of the islands, with the possibility of rain and overcast periods in other areas. Higher temperatures are expected to rise in the peninsula and the Balearics, while lower temperatures will decrease in the east and increase in the rest of the peninsula and the Balearics. Minimal changes are anticipated for the Canary Islands, with the possibility of frost in the northern and southeastern mountains, and frost in the Pyrenees. Weather predictions indicate that the wind will blow from the south and southwest in the peninsula and Balearics, being gentle in the northeast and with gusts in the rest of the peninsula and in the islands.
