The individual believed to be responsible for the murder of his ex-partner this Sunday in the town of Mos, in the province of Pontevedra, is «barricaded» in a house in the town of O Porriño, according to sources close to the investigation. Abel Losada, the Government’s representative in the province of Pontevedra, reported that the alleged perpetrator of this gender-based crime had already been located and that his arrest would be carried out imminently. Authorities are said to be in negotiations with the individual for him to surrender. The victim, aged 52, was not registered in the VioGén system, as confirmed by the Government, and no longer lived with the man who allegedly attacked her with a knife. Her sister alerted emergency services after hearing noises from the upstairs flat where they lived and observed the alleged perpetrator fleeing the scene in his car.
