Madrid. This Monday, during his appearance before the investigative committee on the DANA in Congress, the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, asserted that «none of the public administrations» involved in managing the tragedy «fulfilled their duty,» although he emphasised that responsibility lay with the central Government. During his presentation before the committee examining the management of the DANA from 29 October 2024, Feijóo pointed out that the Government of Pedro Sánchez has «disengaged from its responsibilities» and reiterated that it should have declared level 3, as «it was a national emergency.» He noted the insufficiency of information provided by entities linked to weather predictions, such as the State Meteorological Agency and the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation. Additionally, he rejected the claims made by Javier Sánchez from Podemos regarding his comments on the tragedy, defending that he did not speak falsehoods. «I couldn’t lie, partly because I voluntarily shared my messages, both those I received from Mr. (Carlos) Mazón and those I sent to him,» he added.
Feijóo believes that no administration rose to the occasion during the flood disaster but blames the Government.
