Cristina Herrero, president of the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF), indicated that the number of migrants who could benefit from the regularisation suggested by the Government could reach approximately 800,000. «It is mentioned that there are around 500,000 people,» Herrero stated at an event organised by EY, although «perhaps the actual figure is closer to 800,000,» as proposed by Funcas. AIReF is evaluating the potential impacts of this regularisation and considers that a large part of these migrants are already registered, which means they are included in the demographic projections of the institution.
