The President of Iran announces that he will negotiate with the United States following Trump’s threats.

Tehran.- This Tuesday, the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, reported that he has ordered the commencement of talks with the United States, in a context characterised by warnings of military intervention from Washington. «I have instructed my Foreign Minister to seek negotiations, based on principles of dignity and self-interest,» the leader stated on platform X. Pezeshkian mentioned that «these negotiations will take place within the context of our national interests,» without referencing the United States in his post. He also indicated that «I have directed my Foreign Minister to engage in negotiations, as long as the conditions are appropriate, while adhering to principles of respect and practicality.» The President of the United States, Donald Trump, ordered in January the deployment of a fleet of the US Navy to the Persian Gulf and has stated that he will carry out an attack on Iran if an agreement preventing the Islamic Republic from advancing in the development of a nuclear weapon is not achieved.
