Caracas (EFE).- The interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with Laura Dogu, the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States, who arrived in the country with the aim of reopening the diplomatic mission, closed for seven years due to the breakdown of relations between the two countries, according to the Minister of Communication, Miguel Pérez Pirela. The minister announced that Rodríguez met with Dogu at the presidential palace of Miraflores and mentioned that the meeting was part of the work agenda between Venezuela and the United States, although he did not provide details about what was discussed. Dogu mentioned on the social network X that she had a meeting with Rodríguez and her brother, Jorge Rodríguez, to reaffirm the three stages proposed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding Venezuela: stabilisation, economic recovery, and reconciliation, as well as the transition. On Saturday, Dogu arrived in Caracas with the purpose of reactivating the United States diplomatic mission in Venezuela, in the context of rapprochement between the two nations.
