The head of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has stated that Spain is heading in the right direction for the contribution of the industrial sector to reach 20% of GDP and has assured that the Government will continue to strive to complete the country’s industrial reconstruction. At the closing ceremony of the VIII National Industry Congress in Bilbao, a call was made to deepen the European single market and to strengthen Europe in relation to what is happening in the United States, including the area of security and defence. Spain has managed to allocate 2% of its GDP to defence through modernisation programmes, with the intention that more than 80% of the resources be directed to companies in Spain and Europe.
