The Ministry of Transport has established service levels for the train strike from 9 to 11 February, which are 73% for high-speed and long-distance trains, 75% during peak hours, and 50% for the rest of the day for commuter trains, 65% for medium-distance, and 21% for freight transport. The protests have been organised by CCOO, UGT, Semaf, CGT, Rail Union, Alferro, and SCF, with the aim of demanding a transformation in the rail model and the restoration of safety standards, following incidents that resulted in 47 deaths, the disruption of high-speed service to Andalusia, and the suspension of the Rodalies service in Catalonia. The ministry has been in negotiations with the main unions to reach agreements that would allow for the cancellation of the three days of strike action.
