The anti-corruption law will prevent prison benefits if what was stolen is not returned.

The upcoming organic law on public integrity will establish that those convicted of corruption will not be able to access prison benefits or parole unless they have returned the sums taken, including interest. This draft bill was approved by the Council of Ministers, which hopes to send it to Congress as a bill before the end of the first half of the year, intending for it to be approved before the end of the legislative session. Among the provisions of this regulation, government sources have pointed out the prohibition of granting prison benefits or parole to those who have not returned what they stole, a decision that falls to the prison administration or the court that issued the sentence.
