Storm Leonardo: maximum alert in Córdoba due to the rise of the Guadalquivir River

Thousands of residents in localities in Andalusia and Extremadura have spent the night away from their homes due to the rains that have affected much of the country from Storm Leonardo. 1,500 residents from the Cádiz town of Grazalema were evacuated, joining those evacuated in Granada, Jaén, Málaga, Seville, and Córdoba. In Córdoba, alerts are concentrated as the Guadalquivir may reach its highest level as it flows through the city. Last night, approximately 400 residents from areas near the river were evacuated to prevent the effects of flooding.
