An assassination attempt against a Russian general in Moscow: the Kremlin accuses Ukraine of being behind it.

Moscow.- The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, accused Ukraine of attempting to sabotage peace negotiations through the assassination attempt on General Vladimir Alexeyev, who is the second in command of military intelligence. «This act reaffirms the intention of the regime of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to carry out provocations aimed at disrupting the negotiation process,» Lavrov stated at a press conference. The minister asserted that Kyiv is willing to «do whatever it takes» to convince its western allies not to allow the United States to reach an agreement in the Ukraine conflict. Regarding how the assassination attempt will affect ongoing negotiations in Abu Dhabi, the minister indicated that «that is not my responsibility» and that the decision rests with the country’s leaders, referring to President Vladimir Putin.
